The Young Adult Legion of Mary started on November 21, 2005 the Feast Day of the Presentaion of Our Lady. It consists of about 20 active and auxiliary members. Every member has the responsibility of praying the Catena Legionis (Magnificat) every day.Our group's patron is the Child Mary and we pray to her for guidance as well as follow the Legion of Mary handbook and St. Louis de Montfort devotion to Our Blessed Mother.

1. An active member is currently attending weekly meetings and doing community service.
2. An auxiliary member prays for the Young Adult Legion of Mary by praying the same prayers of active members, but are not required to attend weekly meetings.

Community Service:

  • Once a month we visit a nursing home and pray the rosary with the elderly.
  • We have spoken to the St. Williams youth group about the Legion of Mary and devotions to Our Blessed Mother.
  • We have attended the Christ Unites Music Festival in 2006 where young adults gather of all Christian denominations to unite in faith http://www.christunites.com
  • We have attended the October Fest at St. Williams where we ministered to others by handing out rosaries and information about the Legion of Mary.
We are currently meeting at St. Williams Catholic Church in Round Rock, Texas. Every Friday at 7:30p.m. in the Bridal Room. Come join us!

ABOUT THE LEGION OF MARY

The Legion of Mary is an Association of Catholics who, with the sanction of the Church and under the powerful leadership of Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of all Graces (who is fair as the moon, bright as the sun, and -- to satan and his legionaries -- terrible as an army set in battle array), have formed themselves into a Lgegion for service in the warfar which is perpetually waged by the Church against the world and its evil powers.

The object of the Legion of Mary is the glory of God through the holiness of its members devloped by prayer and active co-operation, under ecclesiastical guidance, in Mary's and the Church's work of curshing the head of the serpent and advancing the reign of Christ.

The Spirit of the Legion is that of Mary herself. Especially does the Legion aspire after her profound humility, her perfect obedience, her angelical sweetness, her contiunal prayer, her universal mortification, her altogether spotless purity, her heroic patience, her heavenly wisdom, her self-sacrificing couragous love of God, and above all her faith.

The Legionary service:

  • Must "put on the whole armour of God." (Eph 6:11)
  • Must be "a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God...not conformed to this world." (Rom 12:1-2)
  • Must not turn from "toil and hardship." (2 Cor 11:27)
  • Must "live in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us." (Eph 5:2)
